[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This bird is one of the most common in Baja desert. It is a Verdin (Auriparus flaviceps). This specie is found across Baja, Mexico and the southwest United States. This specie makes their globular nest with vegetal material on cactus (choya). This behavior helps to be safe from predators such as rodents, snakes and others.

The pic was taken with nikon d80 with 18-135 nikon lens with UV filter. I subexpose 2 steps.

I think that I need a polarizer due to high intensity of the light.

Hi victor,
This really is an excellent photo. Technically, it is well exposed and very sharply focused. As you suggest, a polarizer might have helped a little, but not much. I took a shot at adjusting it in the workshop. You left enough negative space on the left side to make for a very interesting. The twig in the bird's mouth also adds interest.
Unfortunately, I am afraid that you may not get a lot of attention on this one. The thumbnail is not very eye catching.
By the way, I is nice to know that it is common is common in the Baja desert, but what is it?

Victor, polarizer or not this is a fine picture, the detail and the color are good, but the POV and dof make it a really super shot, well seen.

Hi Victor
This is really nice shot of this desert bird. Well composed in natural environment. What you can try is faster shutter speed together with flash. Details and colours are good. I like more your shot than workshop, it was over saturated and over sharped imho.
