| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The ocotillo plant grows wild over all of the Sonoran Desert of Mexico and the United States. Most of the time it is barren, with no leaves, only spines. However, after a rain, the leaves grow overnight to gather sunlight, and then drop off in a day or two when it's dry again. |
