Red-diammond Rattlesnake
Crotalus ruber

This rattlesnake is founded from southern California, USA to Cabo San Lucas in Baja California Peninsula, México. The body is heavy and stout, reaching 1.70m in total lenght. In their wide distribution range, present variation in color pattern. Is one of the most common rattlesnake in Baja. They feed on small mammals and lizard. Is under human pressure due to every snake that the people find... is killed.

I found this adult male in the southernmost part of the Vizcaino Desert, taking the morning sun`s heat.

All the best
