[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My friend Elias and I were kayaking near this small island in Bahia Concepcion in the Sea of Cortez. This Island was heavily used as nesting ground by the Brown Pelicans who thrive here. This is a typical nest of these birds and was the best view I could get without actually going onto the island, which is something that I would never do as it would have disturbed the wildlife there too much.

Some of the Pelicans had nests on the ground as there were not enough of these bushes for them all, but every bush had a nest in it, so I think this was by far their preference. This female is almost certainly sitting on eggs.

Hello David,
She is very well disguised too which is perhaps why they prefer the bushes. It's a shame you couldn't get any closer but respect to you for respecting their ground. I think the image is a little soft in detail and slightly overexposed, although I can't offer any specific advice as I'm not familiar with the Nikon 990. It's still interesting to see this, I had no idea where Pelicans nested. Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Adrian
