| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Following storms at the Baja California desert the earth is moving... when humidity arrives to their refuge, the Couch`s Spadefoots (Scaphiopus couchii) leave the hole where they passed the whole dry season (sometimes more than one year). The males of this impressive species take advantage of the temporary ponds to form noisy nocturnal choruses to attract the females to reproduce. Sometimes there are so much!...that inevitably die squashed by the cars in the highways. |
