Scientific Name : Agraulis Vanillae

Diagnóstica description: Amplitude eave: of 31-38 mm similar Sexes. Wing of orange color. With two white points with ring of black color in the discal cell. In the end of the discal cell three manchitas of black color. In the marginal area a row of manchitas of black color. In the area it mediates three points of black color. Later wing of orange color. With ring of black color in row in the marginal area. Two points distanced in the postaverage area.

Habitat: Edges of forest, secondary, trails and bordered ways of secondary forests.

Service life: Eggs: of yellow color, solitary. Larva in fifth stage: capsule of the dark brown head, without horns. Dark brown body, with orange and gray points. Body covered by short bristles and thorns.

Feeding: The adults visit the flowers of Lantana camara

Relations: Hospedera plant: Passiflora quadrangularis L., auriculata Passiflora Kunth, Passiflora costaricensis Killip (Passifloraceae).

Distribution: The south of the United States until Argentina.

Hola Ricardo
La composicion , las colores, e principalmente el POV, estan muy buenos.
Tiene que atentar para el foco (siempre en los ojos!) tu camera permite una esposicion manual; atenta para un F/numero mayor se possible.:)

This is a great macro! The focus is a little soft on parts of the butterfly's body and head, but the colors are so vibrant, and the butterfly is obviously extremely colorful and beautiful. It's really impossible to get a butterfly to remain perfectly still for a photograph - obviously you have to just get a whole LOT of shots and hope at least one is clear. Good job!

Une bonne macro avec ce jolie couleurs. Parcontre le focus est mal dirigé,normalement il devrait ce dirigé à la tête de l'insecte.

Esta es una foto muy bonita para comenzar tu andadura en TN. El punto de vista y los colores son fantásticos. Me gusta la hierba roja y los granos de polen :)
Noto que la cabeza se escapa ligeramente del campo de enfoque, asi que me atreví con un workshop, espero que no te importe. Un saludo transoceanico y mi bienvenida.

Hola Ricardo :) esta mariposa me encanta por sus manchas blancas que tornan a gris plata, revisando un poco tu hermosísimo portafolio de Mariposas me surge una duda.. bueno yo no conozco mucho de cámaras pero no sé si la Canon Powershot SD10 es más poderosa que la Sony Cybershot DSC-F828.. observo y disfruto la cercanía con la que capturaste a esta mariposa y la pregunta que yo me hago es por qué ahora con tu otra cámara no has captado más cerca a tus mariposas?, bueno yo sé bien que los detalles de las alas son fantásticos y el colorido increíble pero quizá quisiera ver en tus fotos recientes un poco más de detalles como los que muestras desde esta perspectiva de frente, desde este cara a cara con la mariposa. It's actually quite interesting to go back to your first posting and to see how far you've come since then. You had the eye for an excellent composition right from the start, but your handling of dof has imporved mightily.
