Scientific Name : Agraulis Vanillae

Diagnóstica description: Amplitude eave: of 31-38 mm similar Sexes. Wing of orange color. With two white points with ring of black color in the discal cell. In the end of the discal cell three manchitas of black color. In the marginal area a row of manchitas of black color. In the area it mediates three points of black color. Later wing of orange color. With ring of black color in row in the marginal area. Two points distanced in the postaverage area.

Habitat: Edges of forest, secondary, trails and bordered ways of secondary forests.

Service life: Eggs: of yellow color, solitary. Larva in fifth stage: capsule of the dark brown head, without horns. Dark brown body, with orange and gray points. Body covered by short bristles and thorns.

Feeding: The adults visit the flowers of Lantana camara

Relations: Hospedera plant: Passiflora quadrangularis L., auriculata Passiflora Kunth, Passiflora costaricensis Killip (Passifloraceae).

Distribution: The south of the United States until Argentina.
