The green Guacamayo is natural of the Américas. Its location extends from Mexico to the north of Argentina. It is not a continuous distribution, is absented of Central America, although it is possible that it lives in Guatemala. We return it to find to the north of Colombia and Venezuela, continuing its location to the immediate east of the $andes in two or three extensive localities until the north of Argentina (until Salta).

It lives in the tropical low earth forests and in mountains, and the forests of pines and oaks. It is documented to him from the level of the sea to the 3100 meters of elevation.

It nests in the hollows of the trees or the cracks in the clay of ravines. The nidada one consists of two to three eggs.

This guacamayo is a very popular bird in the poultry keeping. Not as much as its relatives guacamayo pink or guacamayo blue and yellow, but is very common in the collections of the zoo.

One feeds on great seeds and fruits.

Of length it obtains of 66 to 71 cm.

An excellent portrait on this Macaw. The light was beautiful. Vibrant colors and sharp deail in the plumage. DOF is a little shallow with the f2.8, but it is a wonderful frame filling composition.

It's a good shot. I think F2.8 was not enough though. IMO, the eye of the subject in a portrait, should be clear and sharp. And you have some motion/camera blur @ 1/30th..Tripod?

PS - My Mum always tells me my photos are fantastic :) I have tried to give you an honest/good faith evaluation, so as you might improve. You can always take what you need, and dis-regard the rest,

A slight touch up of BG in the lower right corner might be recommendable to make it more neutral.
