The mariposa is one of the biggest in world with over 3500 sqm and 15m high. There is plenty of tropical elements allowing 20 new species to be born every year.

Hello Sandrine,
Excellent close up of this butterfly.
Beautiful colours with good detail.
Hello Sandrine
This butterfly surely has the most spectacular colours, patterns and markings, and is indeed a beauty. Sorry I cannot help you with the ID, but I am sure one of the butterfly fundi's will be able to identify it for you at some stage. I like your image, it is just a pity that the focus on the corners of the wings is not that good. But I must congratulate you on the splendid detail captured on the body and the head part. Thanks for sharing this vividly blue-ish butterfly.
Kind regards
Anna
