Impressionnante orchidée, est ce que les boutons s'ouvrent?
Le sommet de l'orchidée est coupé: dommage. Sinon très bonne photo et très intéressante.

Hi Sandrine

Actually this is no orchid. It is a bromeliad from the pineapple family. It seems to be the Dwarf Blue Tango bromeliad - Aechmea-dichlamydea var. trinitensis. You can see an image of this flower here.

A couple of (hopefully useful) suggestions concerning the TrekNature site. I see you have posted 15 photos to date and only wrote 1 critique. This is contrary to the spirit of the site. Critiquing forms the backbone of the site and you should really consider participating in this pleasurable activity to gain a full experience of the site. If one appreciates and expects other members to critique you, it is only fair that other members also expect you to critique them as well. With this I am really not trying to coax you to come and critique my photos as such. There are many members and you can critique who or what you want. This is some of the pointers what the site "Guidelines" have to say about the subject.

Critiques and Ratings
- Most people join TrekNature to try to improve their photography. To that end, TrekNature maintains a critique and rating system. You may critique and rate other members' photos, and other members may critique and rate your photos. The critiques are generally considered to be the most useful aspect of this site. New members are strongly encouraged to actively participate in the critiquing process.
- While there is no requirement that you do so, members are encouraged to provide roughly as many critiques as they receive. One way of accomplishing this is to look at the posts of those members who have provided feedback to you and consider returning the favor.
- As a general proposition, you will find that the more you comment on others' works, the more feedback you will get on your own work.

And in the "TOS" it states; "Critiquing is one of the core aspects of TE/TL (TrekNature) and all helpful critiques are welcomed…"

I also notice that all your photos posted are ±600x400 pixels and only ±70-80kB in size. Remember, you may post photos up to 800x800 pixels and 300kB. I see you use PhotoShop Elements 5.0 so it should be very easy to utilise the full (or at least approximate) format and in so doing present a higher quality posting.

Your photo show a good BG (background) which is well OOF (out of focus) and thus compliments the subject. I would suggest though that you try and increase the DOF (depth of field) by reducing your aperture (possibly in the region of f/8 to f/13) for a shot like this to ensure the full flower is within the range of the DOF. This will guarantee that all the details of the flower will be nice and sharp. Also take care not to cut off pieces of the subject through on camera cropping or as a result of post processing cropping.

Intéressante macro dans laquelle le sujet est bien valorisé mais qui manque de profondeur de champ et dont le cadrage est un peu trop serré.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
