What a photo op this was! A perfect view of the Flicker looking out of her hole. I love the eye! I am sure you are right - she wanted you gone. Great shot with excellent colors, detail and pov. I haven't seen one of these since it got hot.

I've missed some of Your great work lately. I've just been too busy...
This is yet another excellent shot. I like the cautious look on the Flicker's face. Hopefully there wasn't any fights over this nest as this scene reminds me of what I saw a few weeks ago (remember the fighting woodpeckers I posted ?) In any event, you've done wonderfully here. I like the composition, POV and overall setting. Excellent work as always my Friend.

What a nice subject and cute image. I do not remember if this is your new lens but quality of the picture is great. Amazing close-up and magnification. I like perfect details, sharpness of the bird and trunk. Lights and colours are perfect too and composition is spot on. Well done and TFS.

What an enjoyable sight! I think the Northern Flickers I was watching lost their little ones because they are no longer there. It saddens me because I was looking forward to watching them. However, I spotted a squirrel pop his head out of the hole one afternoon; would they eat the young or eggs?

Back to this photo, wonderful close up, good texture on the wood, and the bright blue sky adds excellent contrast. This is a shot that's adorable.
