American Oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus)

Here is an older photo taken with my old XTI, a pair of
American Oystercatcher probably the same birds I saw a couple of weeks ago during my trip to Puerto Penasco, this time I as not able to photograph them.. next time!

Note:

The American Oystercatcher is found on the Atlantic coast of North America from New England to northern Florida, where it is also found on the Gulf coast, and south to northern South America. It is found also in the Pacific coast of Mexico, Central America and northern South America. In the 1800s they became locally extinct in the northeast due to market hunting and egg collecting. After receiving protection under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, their range extended northward to re-occupy historical habitat in New England.

Hello Everton,
Beautiful photo of these American Oystercatchers. The whole day I had five oystercatchers in my garden: mom, dad and three kids. You managed the sharp light very good in good details and beautiful colours. Nice composition.

Hi Everton,

A wonderful pair of Oystercatchers in perfect positions for a picture. Nice natural colors - I love the orange beak and eye circles. They look great in the natural setting.
