[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I'm not sure what kind of Banana Tree this is. I've put it in the Tree category, since I'm not really sure if it fits in the Rain Forest Category, although it did rain a lot while we were there. I was so facinated with the different types of plant life that I don't get to see where I live.
I cropped, added contrast and sharpened this in PhotoImpression.

Something interesting I found out about banana trees is that onve they have beared their fruit, they are chopped down at the base of the stem so that they can grow new stems that will bear fruit. Good sharpness and detail in this shot

Very well done and thanks for posting. May you and your family have a wonderful and prosperous new year.

Wow! A banana tree with so heavy fruits that it is obliged to wear a stick!
Beautiful POV, Lori. Good composition also.
A beautiful work.
Thank you and a great Year 2005 for you and your family!

Nice shot of this banana tree. I wish I would have taken more photos while I was there! As Ben said, "you *have to* bring your sister, she was so much fun", so you know you have to go if we are going again. This photo is very clear on the fruit and is an excellent example of real life fruit growing in action
