| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken July 31st just off Brakhane Road near Carpenter, Illinois, in a slew of roadside wildflower patches. I used the Macro mode on a Nikon CoolPix 5700. I showed the picture to my mother-n-law and she said, "That's Chicken & Hens!"
I do not know the "scientific" name. I also used the clear image mode where Nikon takes 3 pictures, combines them and makes the best photo. (a feature of the camera to reduce/eliminate noise.)
Update: I found out that this is Sedum spectabile, commonly referred to as "Live Forever". |

Hi Scott,
I know that plant, you see it around alot in landscaping and potted plants. I don't know the offical name either. Thats what I was always told it was. I see you are getting the hang of that camera. This macro has nice sharp detail, and good DOF. An interesting looking flower it produces.
Scott
Great capture with a perfect DOF. I also know these as chicken and hens, don't know the real name either!
