Amazing timing. Hope your friend Claudine will like two "flying flowers" back to back! I am guessing that you photographed a male Tiger Swallowtail. Very nice picture. Beautiful flower as well.

Hello Scott,
it is not often that the male and female of a species a presented so nicely together. Just as the female this is a very nice image. Much more than with the female it is difficult to tell where the front and rear wind start and end.

It is perfect. Great shapness, beautiful colors, very good OOF buckground. The only think that (maybe) you could change is composition (cropping) I think that you could crop it a little bit more from the left side

Hi Scott,
A great gesture for a wonderful lady. You captured this butterfly very beautifully. The perfect pose and the fact that it was sitting on the thistle makes the photo magnificent. I really like the soft light in this photo. It produced some wonderful soft colors. DOF and details are perfect and make the b'fly and flower stand out from the BG.

Your lucky you still have butterflies...ours are almost all gone...sniff sniff. Snow flurries are in the forecast for Wednesday...sniff sniff. But if it snow hopefully it will melt when it hits the ground.

Hi Scott.
You managed to picture an amazing swallowtail at so beautiful surroundings. I like great sharpness of both of them and perfectly selected DOF. BG is well blurred, stands out of the main subject and supplements it excellently. Lighting and colours are wonderful too. Excellent job and TFS.

beautiful clear and precise details and deeply saturated natural colours in pleasantly warm hues.
Perfectly frozen in motion, and perfectly well focussed all over. Very fine textures of the wings' surface are well visible here. The impressing size of this swallowtail is also well demonstrated here.

Hi Scott,

Great picture of a spectacular butterfly. I met this one in Arizona several years ago, but it was much darker. Probably it was some regional form or subspecie.
