[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Thought I'd get slime molds out of my system for now and put together a composite of several that I've photographed in the last 4 years. If I can find some new ones this year, I'll post more in the future.

I've tried to ID them, and they are as follows. Any corrections are very welcome:

Upper left: Tubifera ferruginosa
Upper middle: Arcyria denudata
Upper right: Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa
Middle left: Stemonitis species
Center: Unknown
Center right: Unknown
Lower left: Physarum polycephalum
Lower middle: Arcyria nutans
Lower right: Not certain, may be Fuligo septica

All were photographed with my usual Nikon D70, 60mm 2.8 Micro-Nikkor, SB800 flash or built-in flash, hand-held.
Again, see http://handsontheland.org/monitoring/projects/slimemolds/slimemolds.cfm for lots of information about slime molds.

Hello John, very impressive collage of these interesting slime molds. Each one excellent. TFS. Regards,

Nicely done John,
I like the little red ones, they remind me of salmon eggs. I suppose I never realized just how colorful slime and mold could be.
Your images are very sharp and they show much detail. They are extremely helpful in learning to identify fungi.
Whenever I decide to break down and get me a macro, I hope to be able to take shots like yours someday. Love your notes, you are like a walking encyclopedia.
