[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Prairie Milkweed, also called Sullivant's Milkweed, Asclepias sullivantii, is found primarily in prairies in central North America. It somewhat resembles common Milkweed, Asclepias syriaca, but its flowers are typically more highly colored, sometimes very highly colored, and larger than in A. syriaca. It also has hairless leaves and a reddish mid-rib on its leaves. Flowers are toward the top of the plant instead of along the stem lower on the plant. It's a host plant for the caterpillars of monarch Butterflies.

Hi John,
I really like the DOF in this photo. It allows the eye to focus on the front flowers without the loss of the shape of the back flowers. The soft lighting brought out the colors and details perfectly and gave the entire photo a very pleasant view.
TFS,
Niek
