Welcome to TN and thanks for posting this lovely picture of arthemis. Populations of this species come in two basic colour patterns, the white banded pattern is characteristic of the northern single-brooded populations, while the blue-purple pattern seen here is found in southern multiple-brooded populations. These populations meet in a wide band across the northeastern USA where they form a hybrid swarm. Best wishes.
