Spring is here and this Robin is happy about it!
I had to put my Costa Rica images on hold and celebrate the arrival of spring with this American Robin. During a recent visit to Wild River State Park I was thrilled to see flocks of Robins moving through filling the trees with their chips and chatters. Oddly enough they were headed south! Maybe they were wise to the cold and snowstorm coming our way the next day and thought otherwise about moving north. In these parts the American Robin is a good indicator that spring has finally arrived. I saw my first Robin on March 21. Robins are one of the early arrivals during the spring migration here in east central Minnesota.

a VERY good robin maestro! You have the eyes of painter..

the heart of a maker of songs
His words fell like rain
on the dry desert plain,
Precious and so quickly gone.

Hi Richard,

It's so good to see this beautiful American Robin after seeing so many of its Euorpean cousins. I love the pose with the head raised. Lovely colors and good details. I wish we had them here in Tucson.

Hi Richard

I've seen a few shot of the American Robin welcoming in the spring and its a lovely shot, I think its the closest image I've seen of one as I never realised its breast was so mottled, very nice detail with beautiful colours, I like the pose with the bird stretching its neck as if its listening to something.

Hello Richard,
I'm glad spring is coming your way too!! And it is lovely seeing the birds return. This is a splendid capture of Robin in great sharpness and lovely colours against a fine light background. I like his pose and the compositin is beautiful.
TFS and have a nice weekend, Ulla

A beautiful proud looking Robin captured from a favourable low-frontal POV and with enough DOF to render the whole bird in fine focus Richard, the salient plumage and colouration characteristics are perfectly recorded, and that warm eye contact compliments an already good composition while nicely warming the spring atmosphere. TFS indeed my friend.
Cheers,Mehmet
