While the picture of this Whitetail doe is far from perfect (focus!), she seems to me so beautiful (colors, expression), that I decided to “stick my neck out”, and post it anyway.
I encountered this one, as I biked on a trail outside Eden Prairie, Minnesota, looking for wild flowers (see my last postings, please). Had to stop my bike, and use my 105 mm Micro Nikkor lens as mild telephoto lens to shoot from about 10 meters. The image was cropped and sharpened.
These Whitetails are quite common the suburbs of Minneapolis. While nice and cute, they do damage gardens, and spread Lyme’s disease thru the ticks they carry. |

Hi Ishi,
Nice composition, beautiful and shining eyes. I wish it was a bit more in focus.
Best regards,
Ali
Hello Ishi,
Good capture and nice compositon.
A pity he looks not sharp enough.
I think with unsharp mask you can this be better.

Hello Ishi,
It is indeed a very beautiful portrait of this Whitetail. I expect she was too close for your lens, what a pity, but nevertheless I really like it too!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla
I have to agree, Ishi. The focus **is** soft, but the point of view and expression are great. Nicely composed and good work capturing in the midst of a meal. She seems to be enjoying the cuisine.
