Very different from our European butterflies. I like its high wings - great shape and nice red strip above head. Great POV and composition. Upper part of wing are slightly blurred, but it's ok. Very interesting post my friend!

Yes a very different perspective on this species, I like it. Good PP work and well explained. Not enough of us do it anymore on this site, yet when I joined it was the highlight of critiquing, learning what other did to 'improve' the basic shot. TFS.

What a superb butterfly! I envy you so much for having an insectarium close-by...we don't have such a thing here :(
Anyway, judhing by both of the shots present here, i would say it is just as lovely one both sides. I raelly like the colors of the wings but also the ones of its eyes.
The POV here is great, the details nice nad sharp adn the contrast with the BG excellent.

Clara, delicada y atractiva macro Scott con acertada presentación vertical.
Me gusta mucho la agudeza y el colorido captado, gracias a un adecuado control de la luz, a pesar de la baja velocidad de disparo.
Los detalles y hasta las texturas son realmente maravillosas... con una perfecta difusión del fondo para realzar la silueta del insecto y su percha.
Me gusta también el encuadre que elegiste para su composición y la excelente segunda imagen con la mariposa totalmente extendida.

Clear, delicate and attractive macro Scott with right vertical presentation.
I like a lot the sharpness and the captured colors, due to an appropriate control of the light, in spite of the slow shot speed.
The details and until the textures they are really wonderful... with a perfect diffusion of the bottom to enhance the silhouette of the insect and their hanger.
I like also the framing that you chose for their composition and the excellent second image with the completely extended butterfly.

I have seen the open wing stance in the workshop and I feel that this profile view of the underwing has greater appeal to me. That long vertical sweep of the wing plus those bold strokes of colors at the base of the wing make this aspect much more fascinating.
Your PP work for this presentation is immaculate and leaves no scope for nit-picking.

Very beautiful. The wings are stunning. They seem almost grainy, like wood.

Well cropped to make a nicely composed picture with a pleasing diagonal flow across the length of the picture leading to your subject.

Everything is sharp and the detail is great. But then, I feel almost embarrased to say that, because it always is on your photos.
