[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This spider was crawling sideways on a wall, I liked how he is staring me down trying to figure out what i'm doing. He was just a little striped one, not sure what species but I know they can jump really far. Although with him being so small, the details are harder to see on this low res version. Hope you like it.

Hi Kirk and welcome to TrekNature. as far as I can see is this little spider is pretty sharp. Usually on shots like this you would crop the spider out of such a large frame to appear to be more of a closeup shot. That is a lot of background and side space for such a tiny target. Looks like you hit your focus correctly but cropping the little guy would make it a lot better.

I think you did very well on POV and focus here. The spider's pose is lovely. I agree that it would be good to crop the picture more. We could see more details on the spider then.
I see you have very similar camera to mine. I guess than that it has very similar macro capabilities - that is great capabilities as for a simple compact camera. I have some experience with macro shooting with Coolpix and I can tell you that 4cm is more than enough. You can check my gallery if you like. I have some spiders there too.

Anyway, I still think this is a very good opening shot and looking at it a little longer I begin to like this space. Makes the spider looks tiny.
