As a boy I used to raise rabbits, and I remember the one plant that they seemed to love was red clover. I would walk the edges of the woods or fields and pick handfuls of this sweet smelling plant, and bring it back for them to devour.
Red clover was brought to us by the Europeans to be used as a hay crop. It has since become a permanent landscape fixture throughout much of the US. You can find it growing just about anywhere, from fields and roadsides to backyards and sometimes even in the cement cracks in driveways.
The health benifits of red clover are many. It has long been used to treat symptoms of menopouse, and osteoporosis. It's used as a blood purifier, to improve circulation, promote urine and mucous production and stimulate bile secretion. A large variety of ailments can be treated by using the flowers of the plant.
Wow!!! And I thought it was just used to feed rabbits!! |

Beautiful close-up. Great detail and lovely color!
Hi Ron,
An excellent note and really nice shot of this flower, one that I've never looked at this closely before, shows the typical flower shape of plants in the Leguminosae family quite nicely.
Thanks,
John
Hi Ron,

I've added this to my favorites. It's wonderful. And amazing, clear, detailed shot with a nice background and great lighting. Again, a terrific composition. Thanks for sharing.
