[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was visiting a construction site yesterday at a village park where new playground equipment was being installed and learned that the kildeer's scientific name, Charadrius vociferus, is not without reason. This mother had laid her eggs, and she was **very** vociferous in making sure that nobody came near them.

For more on the species, see: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Killdeer_dtl.html.

P.S. -- We'll get back to the American White Pelican follow-up post mentioned last time, but this was too neat to pass up.

nice action shot. colors are good. focus is a little soft

Jim,
This image does not need a huge commentary of a Critique because it is simply OUTSTANDINGLY GREAT.
Friendly greetings from North of the 49th. from,
Mario.

Hi Jim,

A nice shot. POV and BG are good. But I'm agree with Trinko the focus is a little soft. For the rest a great compo. I like that. Regards and TFS Bob

I love the tail feathers, even though perhaps just barely cut off at the end, makes no complete difference. Yet this cause me to wonder if the feathers of this bird are legal to own. There are so many which are illegal, such as eagles and hawks, with exception of full blood or 2nd generation mixed Native Americans who can own them, as they are a highly prized symbol in their heritage. (forgive my run on sentence)
