[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
With the first warm days of spring, the mallards are out and about. During my Sunday afternoon stroll through the local nature preserve they seemed more than usually willing to let passersby get close.

Mindful of a Trekker's comment from an earlier post about appreciating an eye-contact view, I chose this photo because of its perspective, though the lower foreground is slightly mottled by the grass edging the stream. I'd have shown more of the female, but her neck and bill were completely obscured by the riparian vegetation when I got this shot.

good expression nice colors good focus, the out of focus branches in the front are a bit of a distraction though. but it's still a good photo
