White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus -- Seen last night at feeding time at the local nature preserve. Details of the species can be found in many sites, including http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-tailed_Deer
Composed exactly as in the viewfinder -- only adjustments were brightness/contrast, USM, and a very slight levels correction, all done in The Gimp.
Several deer were feeding in a meadow, and this youngster, amazingly, let me walk closer and closer. It seemed as if he were as curious about me as I about him. |

Aha! A deer I am very familiar with as you must be as well seeing the location. Centering is perfect,making the surrounding green a frame. The slightly darker green at top angled down puts attention right back on the subject. Nice composing job altogether.
