The Wild Cherry trees (Balck Cherry) are in full bloom here in Ohio. Some of the trees are just covered with these blossoms. While driving up towards Cleveland the other day the roadsides were lined with these heavy laden white blossomed trees.
The wild cherry tree is used in furniture making and many other home decor projects. The wood is very beautiful and durable.
In the wild the trees are home to a number of small animals and birds. The small fruit which is black when ripe, is a favorite of birds and mammals such as squirrels, racoons and deer.
I took this photo out behind the house towards evening. Even from a hundred yards or more, the blossoms are clearly visible from our kitchen window. |

Nice job on this Ron,
Great exposure, color, & detail in a pleasing composition..
I just did a similar flower macro of a purple butterfly bush bud with the same horizonal aspect..What a coincidence ;}
Well done & TFS!

Hi Ron,
It's so nice to see cherry blossoms again! I love the horizontal composition of these beautiful flowers. You managed lovely whites that look wonderful with the green leaves and background. Very good details of each individual blossom. How nice to look out your kitchen window and be greeted by this scene.

Man oh man...now you're really taking me backwards...to a little kid....not just cherry but we had a REAL Apple Tree planted by the real John Chapman...I was young enough to meet the man who saw it planted...right there in our yard or what was to become our yard....wonderful memories...apples and cherries...burning leaves in the fall...raking them into piles...and wild asparagus...my gosh Ron. I think I grew up in Heaven...

Hi Ron,
very good composition of cherry blossoms, I've never seen it in my place. Wonder someday you are going to the wild and capture it with a squirrel, racoon or deer. Thanks for sharing, Ron.
Best regards from Indonesia
