| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
It's been raining on and off all day long but finally stopped late this evening. I got home from work and decided to go for a walk out back and see what I could find to photograph. This is one of the wild flowers that I saw along the way.
Oxeye daisy (Chrysanthemum Leucanthemum) sometimes called Moon Daisy or Dog daisy. A typical meadow flower which grows to a height of 1 to 3 feet. It grows in a variety of places such as meadows, dry fields, under scrubs, open canopy forests an in waste lands.
It was introduced into North America, Australia and New Zeland where it is now considered a common weed. However it is planted along the roadsides in North Carolina by the Highway dept.
In many areas it multiplies so rapidly that it competes with native plants. It is hard to eradicate because it can regenerate from root fragments. |

Hi Ron
Good detail in the centre and I like the simplicity of the shot...well done and TFS.
Cheers

This is a stunning post Ron...Rain or not it is a stand-out photo...perhaps in it's simplicity. I have found the adjective used many times when some critique florals:-) but 'tis true..Simple but in beauty sometimes smaller and simpler is better..
Bob
Hello Ron,
This is a lovely sharp and perfectly exposed shot of the daisy. It is so easy to over-expose this pretty little flower but you have dealt very well with the light.
It is just a little too centrally positioned for my liking but that is a very small criticism against what is otherwise perfect.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Ron,
A daisy to spread morning cheer. And that is what it had done for me....and i say "Good Morning".
I like the way you have composed it centrally with the dark muted BG ...the white exposed so perfectlhy and the details are outstanding. The yellow and white colours on the flowers adds a cheer to the whole composition.Fine sharpness and contrats.
Well done.
TFS & Cheers
