I believe this pair of Canada Geese are telling the world that this little piece of property belongs to them for the nesting season.
They are standing on an old muskrat mound in the Magee Marsh area. I saw quite a few other pairs who had also laid claim to their own reed covered mounds.
Most of the geese have young by this time of the year. I saw some little ones just yesterday which were already getting pretty big. They were following their parents, and staying fairly close in case they encountered any problems. |

Hi Ron,
A lovely pair of Canadian Geese. I can almost hear the one with the open mouth. I like the way they are looking in opposite directions. Nice colors and details and a wonderful natural setting.

Great shot of this mated pair guarding its ground. It looks like a muskrat hut that they have choosen. Thanks for sharing this great image Ron.
