| I took this photo earlier this spring in the woods behind the house. I really don't know what type of mushrooms these are, but they were just popping up after a long Winters nap. |

Hi Ron,
Nice in-situ photo - maybe the POV could have been a bit lower and the grenery from the foreground removed or not composed into the photo, but I like the shot with nice sharp fungi. About the specie: it's quite hard to judge without seeing the gills, but it must be a Gymnopus specie, very probably Gymnopus dryophilus (= Collybia dryophila).

Hi Ron,
Nice shot, but I think I would have gotten a little closer and concentrated on the 2 bigger mushrooms, a bit too much extraneous stuff. As László says, pretty much impossible to positively ID from a photo. They're genuine LBM's (Little Brown Mushrooms), a vast category of essentially unidentifiable species that only a specialist mycologist would work to identify to species.

They blend well under the canopy of forest droppings and fresh spring greenery. I'll wage techranger will like this one...it does have that kind of Larry Doyle look to it...both you and he are pretty sharp at these unique styles..

Ron, just for the heck of it check out my workshop comparison. I like the shot, but it needs some cropping.
