I believe this is a Bronze Copper butterfly, but I'm not positive. I took this photo out behind the house and didn't realize there was a bee fly coming to investigate just as I took the shot.
I originally thought this was an American Copper, but it lacks the bold black spots on it's front wings. I checked my guide books and the image of the Bronze Copper was as close as I could get to the likeness of this particular butterfly. |

have a nice day,
Nikos.
Hey bro!
An awesome shot! I love the feeling of space you've given this compostion!
Its so sharp it could cut!!
You rock, buddy, this shot is simply flawless!
I do wish I could say something about the ID, but if you know me, I'm a real dud with that stuff!
;)
Cheers!
Goldy

Hello Ron,
It's a very nice action shot. Looks almost like the hover fly is attacking the butterfly :-) Nice blurred background too.
Best greetings and TFS!

Hi Ron,
Cool shot, it's always fun when circumstances come together for a shot like this. Nice shot of the butterfly, one I haven't seen before. Seems like it's looking at the little fly/bee.
