Finally the butterflies have returned in large numbers to the fields behind our house. I was getting a little worried that this would be a bad year for butterflies, because I haven't been seeing near as many as I did last year.
I took this shot of a Monarch the other day as it was flitting from one clover blossom to the other. The monarch is one of many beautiful butterflies which spend their summers here in Ohio. |

Hi Ron,
A beauty! I like the hint of dappled light filtering through the wings from the back. You got the wings in the plane of sharp focus too, very good!
I love the colors, the depth of field, and of course, the subject matter. Terrific composition, fine details, and overall effect is a gentle mood. Beautiful, Ron.

Hi Ron,
I'm still waiting for butterflies! This Monarch is gorgeous with the most beautiful brilliant colors. Excellent clarity as well. The setting and composition are just beautiful.
