[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found quite a few of these big brown mushrooms growing out in the woods the other day. The tops reminded me of the crust on a freshly baked loaf of bread.

It has been getting cooler in the evenings and some of the leaves are starting to turn yellowish and beginning to fall. I love this time of the year except for the fact that I know the white stuff will soon be upon us.

I didn't have a tripod with me this time because I was doing a lot of climbing up and down steep hills. The undergrowth was very dense at times and I was continually trying to avoid direct contact with poison ivy.

Hello Ron,
I look at photo and think if this species come from our Old World or you have own very similar one. Your photo like for me good low POW and light on its cap. I'm lover gathering mushrooms and this secies is known for me vey well and taste also very much especially frying with onion.
Bst regards, Pawel

Hi Ron,

Nice mushroom, good detail in the cap, looks like probably a Leccinum of some kind, but you can't ID them to the species level with certainty from just a photo.
