[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I know this is a Fritillary Butterfly, but just not 100% positive what kind. I checked my guide book and it looks closest to the Meadow Fritillary (Boloria bellona).

This was taken late in the evening while I was hiking near Uhrichsville. It seem funny how some butterflies are attracted to mud, manure and things of this nature while others prefer flowers.

Hallo Ron
How lovely is the sight of this Fritillary butterfly and how well and with care you have photographed it. The colours and details are amazingly vivid and stand out very well. I think it might be the different sandy backdrop than we are used to, as the most of the times these beauties are resting on a flower or something more colourful. I do however fancy the backdrop as it highlights the beautiful autumn colours of this butterfly to its best. The shape and pose of this butterfly is perfect. It was a great pleasure stopping by this lovely image. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna

Hi Ron,

That's a beauty, and it posed for you too, always a plus. ;-)

The warm light complements the colors of the subject and background, and the results are very attractive.

Nice to show this behavior, I guess it's the moisture that attracts them to mud and manure.
