Hi Ron!
Many thanks to share this beautiful picture of the Woodpecker with us. He really is a nice fellow and you have put him well on stage. The details of the bird's feathers are well highlighted by a good sharpness and the blurred background.
Kind regards

Hi Ron,
The subject is well framed. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the Downy Woodpecker on the tree. The colors are enhanced by the quality of the light. Have a nice day.

Dear Ron,
This Woodpecker looks quite different from the ones we see in South Africa.
Nomen et omen - and not surprisingly - the chest looks really quite downy!
You show in great detail the black and white wings - and interestingly - I can also see his red cap is quite smaller than most Woodpeckers in South Africa.
It was mentioned in a recent documentary, that the woodpeckers have a specially cushioned brain to protect them against concussion - clever nature!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday,
Kind regards
Ingrid
