This was taken from my kayak, so I was able to get a little closer.
This is a Greater Yellowleg. A very common shorebird.
It summers in Alaska and Central Canada and winters in the southern U.S.
29 -33 cm (11-13 in) with a wingspan of 60 cm (24 in)
Diet occasionally includes berries and seeds, but mostly small fish, invertabrates and small frogs. |

very nice action shot with great pose of the bird and very good compo. However this is not a Spotted Sandpiper which has much shorter legs but a Greater Yellowleg Tringa melanoleuca
