[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Looking again at my last post jogged my memory about other backyard wildlife shot through a window. Most are mediocre, either in composition or technical quality, but this one is the exception. This gray squirrel was only about 3 m away on the suet feeder we attach to our bird feeder support cable. The window from which I was shooting is visible in the eye reflection.

Gray squirrels are the bane of suburban bird enthusiasts in the US because they will pilfer whatever you put out for the birds. Their dexterity, agility, and persistence make it very difficult to prevent them from attaining their goal of a free lunch. In the case of this feeder, we have been successful for several years because of the placement of multiple rotating sheet aluminum baffles on the support wire. If I took the baffles down, I could get more squirrel shots, but I think this one image is enough for me.

Tech note- minipod/windowsill shot, taken through 3 panes of glass; modest cropping; some shadow/highlight adjustment for best definition, slight increase in contrast and saturation, one step PS sharpening

hi Bob

Very stylish pose of this squirrel and really good close up shot. The BG blur color is a little confusing to me at the thumbnail but the full view is superb.

Very sharp focus and great action freeze.

A beautiful profile portrait Bob, I think I can see your reflection (at least the window's) in that bright eye my friend!
Cheers,
