This is Niagara Falls taken from Goat Island in New York. Six million cu. ft. of water flows over the crestline every minute at high flow and four million on average. It is a valuable source of hydroelectric power.
This view is of the Bridal Veil Falls looking toward the observation tower in New York. It was alternately cloudy and rainy the day I was here with the sun intermittently peaking through the clouds. This was one of those brief moments when the sun peaked through and everyone around me exclaimed about the rainbow; I chose to only get a portion of the rainbow in the lower left corner in order to show the magnificent falls. Horseshoe Falls is behind me linking the twin cities of Niagara Falls N.Y. with Niagara Falls, Ontario.
