[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While on a short trek through the woods of Pennsylvania, I came across this tiny yellow fern, a lone survivor amongst its many decaying brown family members.

The tiny fern seemed to be taking its last and final stand before the onslaught of the soon coming winter season.

Hi Ron,

Very nice color contrast and detail. We see the before and after regularly, as we observe nature. But, we don't necessarily see them together, quite as well as you have shown. Well done!

John

Hi Ron

Great contrast and composition. Really like the detail in the fern with the soft background.

Thanks
Kris

I Really like this shot, it is different, and it is very sharp. I like the contrast between the old brown ferns and the bright yellow one, well done!

Hi Ron,

A sight we don't see here. Our ferns stay green the year round. Although I've seen small parts of a plant die if we have several nights below freezing. Interesting to see this fading fern against the brown ones. Beautiful colors and a wonderful diagonal composition.

Jane

A fine colour and vegetation combination, both dead and alive, within an aesthetically perfect composition Ron, TFS this fine image my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet

Perfect complimenting colours.....they have a feeling about them...something musty..something only slightly damp and yet you can sense that when the sun is higher the smell will go and all seem fresh until the snows start flying!...ah well...out here it is supposed to be pretty bad this winter...I tire easily!

Hi Ron,

Nice colors and textures in that, gives a good feel for the season, I can almost smell the Autumn woods in that shot.
