[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Common in North America.Their are five subspecies groups all have similar habits: nest in relatively open coniferous or mixed woods with patches of open ground and brush: Winter in small flocks in patchy wooded areas: forage on open ground, flying into brush or trees when alarmed. All forms share basic similarities: Plain gray head and breast contrasting with pale pinkish-white bill: unstreaked gray, brown, and white body and contrasting white belly; and white outer tail feathers that flash conspicuously in flight..

Common cute little bird. I did not see them this winter have just recently seen them..

From Jane to Jane,

A beautiful Junco - a bird I have not seen in Tucson. Wonderful pose, sharp details, nice natural colors, superb background and composition. A belated welcome to TN.

Hello Jane,

Beautiful photo.Good composition.Great shot, with excellent detail.I liked very much.

Jane,

Thank you for your kind words!
Now, this is definitely one of the better portraits of a junco I've seen in a while. The detail is top notch but what is really great about this shot is the lighting. I love how you captured the plumage showing the different shades of gray. Composition and background are excellent as well. Wonderful work. TFS,

Best Regards,

Martin
