You see, it's the 4th of July, so the title and picture is (somewhat) appropriate.
The orginal American revolutionary flag, of course, depicts a rattlesnake (Eastern Diamondback?) and this one is not, rather a Black Rat Snake (Elaphe obsoleta). After all, it is much safer to take close-ups of these non-venomous snakes. |
