[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The largest and most widespread heron in North America, the Great Blue Heron can be found along the ocean shore or the edge of a small inland pond. An all white form is found from southern Florida into the Caribbean, and used to be considered a separate species, the "Great White Heron."

Hey Bill
The colours make the heron jump out of the composition...'ofcourse water drops and prey included...superb action frozen, with fine PoV and sharpness.
I 'm assuming its water that is seen in Bg, quite placid...interesting

Outstanding shot Bill,
The lighting is exceptional, it makes the bird seem to become illuminated. Wonderful action image with extremely sharp focus and exposure. You captured this moment with perfect timing. Love the tiny water droplets. TFS.

A decisive moment, Bill.
Well composed. Natural perch and background.

Brilliant shot. The posture of the subject is great with it's lunch firmly secured in it's beak, but the colours are really great too, not to mention the sharpness - you can even see the droplets of water running off its beak!
