This Great Blue Heron managed to snatch this little duckling right out from under it's mother's clutch. He made off with it and promptly swallowed it whole.

Hi Bill. Great timing from you and the Heron but not for the poor little duck. But this is nature. Taken with good detail and natural colours. Well done TFs.
Nick..

Hello Bill,
Impressive shot! Perfect timing, nice saturated tones, great composition. I did not know that the heron can do that. I supposed it feed only from fishes or frogs... Bad for the little duck. Best regards,
Catherine

Wow! What a fantastic action shot!
Love the running pose of the GBH, the angle of his neck and legs... the wings spread out.
But his beak is held tight on that poor duckling.
Everything is super sharp, and the composition is very dynamic.
Thanks for sending me your web site. I really enjoyed browsing through your images, and bookmarked it for future visits.
TFS. : )

Hi Bill,
What a great capture. Just superb. Very well seen and well timed shot. Sorry for the duckling though. Very well done. Thanks a lot for sharing.

great shot. It seems that the now heavily suport white storks does the same thing here, preying on other birds giving the lapwings and godwits a hard time

this photo reflects real face of the life.
good timing and really impressive...
