[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hares and jackrabbits are leporids belonging to the genus Lepus. (Four other species of leporid in the genera Caprolagus and Pronolagus are also called "hares".) Very young hares, less than one year old, are called leverets.

They are very fast moving. The European Brown Hare (Lepus europaeus) can run at speeds of up to 72 km/h (45 mph).

Hares live solitarily or in pairs, whilst "a drove of hares" is the collective noun for a group of hares.

Hares do not bear their young below ground in a burrow as do other Leporidae, but rather in a shallow depression or flattened nest of grass called a form. Hares are adapted to the lack of physical protection, relative to that afforded by a burrow, by being born fully furred and with eyes open. They are hence able to fend for themselves very quickly after birth — that is to say, they are precocial. By contrast, the related rabbits and cottontail rabbits are altricial, having young that are born blind and hairless.

Bellissima cattura di lepre, ottimo POV, molto bella la composizione con la lepre in primo piano con le orecchie ritte illuminate dalla luce radente in mezzo ai fili d'erba, molto buoni i dettagli e molto belli i colori e BG senza cielo. It's a great shot of this watchful hare. I like the way the light works here! The spikes of grass as well as the hare's ears seem to be glowing! Regards, Rafal

Hi Wei.
Beautiful photo. Very good POV but what i like most is the ears. I can almost see the blood. (This is the way to cold down the body temperature in hot places like here in semideset regions)

What a wonderful shot. This is really a fine-looking image with lots of detail to appreciate. The cute nearly see-through ears, up in the air all alert, the big black eye with the white circle around it, the white patch of fur on the chest just slightly visible and the adorable face are all just great. A beautiful view, with sharp details and focus. A beautiful and furry little friend. Thanks for sharing, and have an enjoyable day.

did i miss easter? *g* what a wonderful shot! :-) terrific low pov along the grass leading the view to the cautious hare with
its big brown eye. the light shining through its ears showing the blood vessels is great as well as the "glowing" grass around.
