| Driving back from a field trip with the Delaware Photographic Society, I spotted a glimpse of purple near the road, and stopped to admire and photograph this iris and its raindrop, left from the morning's showers. As an iris specimen in a show, it would bring no honors as its falls are too long, too thin and droopy, but as early garden color, it is a winner. |

This is a gorgeous shot. I love how you have captured both the before and after stages—bloom and pre-bloom. What deep colors! And I love the texture and satiny sheen of the petals.
