This freshwater pond is near the saltmarshes. It is a rest area for the marsh birds, they bathe and drink here. Little Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets can be a bit territorial and aggressive but this trio was getting along.
Any fresh water near a salt marsh is likely to attract marsh and sea birds, most of them do require fresh water for drinking, or at least prefer it. |
