[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I hadn't planned to post today. Much to do. But in my morning walk I found this spider and cicada. The cicada had just hit the web. The spider secured it first, did some cursory web repair, and the returned to the cicada. I have closer images of that activity, but I really like this image because it seems to put us in the web.

The construction is amazing. Almost parallel lines joining in the center. And then the intersecting lines circling around the center. Quite an architect.

Hope you enjoy, and have a great weekend!
Reid

Bonjour Reid, magnifique cette toile d'araignée, bien vu et bien fait,
amicalement,
Pat

Hello Reid,
Good clarity on the web and sharp on the spider!
good angle as well for the captured!
well composed and well seen
cheers
Tony

It is a fascinating process which I have watched only once before as a child. Well worth the weekend post Reid. It is something which perhaps one day with nothing to do, one could do a photo version of a time lapse on it. You sure got a lucky gift on your walk.

Hi Mr. Reid,
A lovely capture of this spider on web with a cicada. Excellent composition and colors. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Sincerely
HP

I feel like the main focus of this isn't so much the spider and cicada but the web itself...what architecture! :)
WOW

Hi reid,
