I dont like this shot and will tell you why. Composition and light is interesting. Sharpness is very poor. I aloso think that you did the buckground bluring (but you blur also the tree trunk and some parts of the bird and it doesnt look nice.

I concur with Silke. The pose is quite attractive Reid. There is an unusual and unique quality to the color. It looks "official"...there is no word I can think of...but as in a documentation which has official quality colors..such as rag paper which Treasury Dept used to use. Very interesting.

hello Reid

excellent photo for a photo not easy to shot,
i like the framing of the image, the angle you took the photo
but it is a little bit overexposed on the highlights

to blur the backround i don't use the gaussian blur,
i instead use the lens blur who is on Photoshop CS2

Nice pose of the hawk looking down, slightly soft in the focus but still good detail. The late sun looks a lovely golden colour giving your image a difference, well seen.

Reid, I can see the sun rays or sun beam reflecting on the bird is superb. I also like the posture of the bird. It gives a feeling that it is thinking. Lovely note. Thanks for sharing Ganesh

Great shot of the Hawk basking in the sun and giving you a fabulous pose. The sunlight makes its plumage shine and the natural environment as BG works well here. Excellent POV and very nicely composed. Kudos.
