Hi Howard,
Nothing seems to be wrong with high shutterspeed in this capture. But sometimes these wrong settings occurs with me and I get a black frame or half dark and half exposed frame. A very cute looking bird. Excellent sharp details and a lovely composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Now i don't belive a Texan isn't fast enough on the draw, Howard ;o)This looks, as always, excellent! Perfect composition with just the right amount of space for him/her to look/fly into, and a well chosen POV has given you that lovely blue backdrop. Very well done indeed.

Hello Howard,
At ISO 800 you have a lot to play with even if you are quick on the draw! But reducing the speed might have caused too much DOF, so maybe you could have afforded a lower ISO. But I know what you mean, my latest was too high in shutterspeed too but at the spur of the moment we think more about the POV and other aspects!
And all the aspects are great here including the composition.

Hi Howard,

This little Bell's Vireo looks great to me. All our winter birds seem to head to Texas!
Fantastic to catch him in such a good pose - usually they are scampering thru the leaves barely resting. Excellent details and wonderful colors. I like the composition.

Hi Howard.
I like exposure parameters and picture so much. May be I don't know anything. However, excellent scene, Small twigs decorate the image nicely. Their sharpness and blurriness are amazing as well as the image of the bird. Lights, details, colours are really wonderful. Well done and TFS.

Wow, the detail to both the bird and branch is amazingly clear, clean and sharp. Sometimes the most stunning images can be produced with some "unusual" settings, it goes to prove a thing, it don't matter what settings you used, a good image is a good image irrespective....regards h

Nice capture of this cute little bird!
Though the ISO may have been a bit too high, the shutter-speed would have made sure the shot was sharp... which it so totally is (if I was to talk like an American!) ;-)
Great DOF and pin-point focusing.

In my opinion there is nothing seems to be wrong in this capture. I´m a bit jealous on this photo. This bird look a like a little bit on the white eye in New Zealand. Beautiful sharp shot. Soft colors. The only remark I can make is a bit noise by the tail of this bird. Further a classic composition. Well done. Have a nice weekend and TFS BOB

Beautiful little bird Howard. You might have picked the wrong speed, but I'd say you got away with it. This is great. If I shot this at ISO 800 with my D200, I'd be cleaning up noise, and I like your depth of field. You haven't totally eliminated the background but you've muted it down and it looks very natural. The bird is tack sharp with excellent colour, perfectly positioned in a great pose. Very nice.

When the shot is as wonderful as this who cares about settings. Very neat and sharp image of this cute little bird with clear details and lovely colours on its plumage. Superb lighting and exposure levels and a fine DOF. Superb pose captured here and it cools cool and comfortable perched up them. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

What a dear wee fellow. Love the posed and detail, but as always the bonus is the catchlight. Nice work as always. I need to catch up on your gallery. Have been hiding from the World but decided to wander in to TN and see what my friends have been up to. Lost my photography passion and need to have it re sparked. Looking at your work has done that, but the weather here is less than favourable for being out and about. I like your pond! What a great enticement for our 'feathered friends'.
