You posted fighting cowbirds, I posted fighting macaws :)
The cowbirds are good, but I do like teh waxwing, they are such a smart looking bird. Great compositin and sharpness as always. A descent lens makes a big difference.

A real gemstone without a doubt. A masked majesty. This is just a stunning capture with all technical aspects being perfect. A real elegant bird captured in a solid pose and serious glance. Very nice lighting and perfect rich colours of the bird. I especially like the yellow tips on the tail feathers. Close-up work is well done and real sharp. Today I have gone to my countryside garden and tried to find so cute birds. Unfortunately I have met more common species and managed to catch only one of them. Wonderful shot of fine bird. Hi Howard. The birds like your new tree . Just one small tree in a garden will bring in the birds they feel safe off the ground and to have put it by the pond just the job. Now the Waxwing if you dont get any more pictures this one pays for the tree. great detail and colour.Your picture showsthe red on the wings and the yellow on the tail.good POV/DOF. well done TFS.

Waxwing birds are such dainty creatures, Howard.
This one looks so prim and proper on your pear tree.
I like those small touches of red and yellow on the bird.
Which flash did you use while taking this shot with the camera mounted on tripod? In-built or external? Dumb questions from an ignormus.
